Doug Knack For Norfolk Commissioner of the Revenue Doug Knack was born in Charlottesville and has lived in the City of Norfolk with his family for more than thirty years. His father worked for the City of Norfolk as a social worker and his mother was a public school teacher. Growing up with three siblings, Doug knows that every penny counts when taking care of a family, and knows first hand the hardships and challenges families face. Doug Knack is a licensed realtor in Virginia and has served as an award winning associate at William E. Wood for more than nineteen years. Prior to his successful real estate career, Doug Knack worked as a management analyst with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Social Services. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He and his wife Kathy are members of Sacred Heart Church. They are the proud parents of three children,all of whom graduated from Maury High School. His daughter Ashby graduated Lynchburg College in 2007 and is the Director of Community Relations for the Hickory Crawdads, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Matthew attended the Culinary Institute of Virginia and is sous chef at Croc's 19th St Bistro, and their son Collin is a student at VCU and an employee of BestBuy in Richmond. Affiliations
